-Splash Station pool in Ewing is accepting applications for life guards through the end of January.  See Mrs. Oliver for an application.

-The teen health fair is Saturday, February 3rd…it is a free event and you can pick up a permission slip from the high school counter.  Please see Nurse Katrina for more details.

-Juniors are eligible to apply for the Lewis County REC Youth Tour to Washington D.C.  Deadline to return your application and complete your essay is March 12th.

-Sophomores are eligible to apply to attend the Lewis County REC Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience (CYCLE) Conference July 18-20, in Jefferson City.  Deadline to return your application is March 12th.  See Mrs. Oliver for more information.

-Juniors and seniors can sign up to meet with the following college representatives:

SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS:

-International Brotherhood of Electric Workers (IBEW Local 34) is hosting an industry night job fair for electricians and those interested in becoming an apprentice on February 22nd.  This is a good opportunity for seniors interested in the electrical field that may or may not plan to attend college.  Please see Mrs. Oliver for more information.

-If a counselor report is needed for a scholarship, you MUST request the report from Mrs. Oliver at least 1 week in advance of the scholarship due date.

-Seniors planning to attend a four-year college or university that demonstrate limited financial resources and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 are eligible to apply for the James L and Nellie M Westlake scholarship.  Deadline is Friday.

-Female seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA planning to major in a field of business and have taken at least one business class at Canton R-V during their senior year are eligible to apply for the Jeanette Bethann Schuetz Memorial scholarship.  Deadline is January 31st.

-Seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA that plan to pursue an Ag-related degree can apply for the FFA America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders scholarship.  Deadline is February 1st.

-Seniors that participated in the Missouri State Fair as a youth exhibitor in the FFA or 4-H divisions are eligible to apply for the Missouri State Fair Foundation Youth in Agriculture Scholarship.  Deadline is February 1st.

-Seniors who are a child or grandchild of a living Elk member are eligible to apply for the Elks Legacy scholarship.  Deadline is February 2nd.

-Seniors that previously attended Head Start for one or more years may apply for the Missouri Head Start Alumni High School Senior Scholarship.  Deadline is February 9th.

-Seniors that reside at a Missouri farm or in a rural area, that plan to study agronomy or a related field, are eligible to apply for the Missouri Corn Scholarship.  Deadline is February 9th.

-Seniors that are active common stockholders of URSA Farmers Coop or the spouse, the child, or the grandchild of an active common stockholder, are eligible to apply for the URSA Farmers Coop scholarship.  Deadline is February 22nd.

-Seniors can apply for The Project 21 Scholarship by writing an article or creating a poster or video addressing the issue of underage gambling.  Two (2) $1,500.00 first prize scholarships and Four (4) $1,000.00 second prize scholarships will be awarded.  Deadline is February 23rd.

-Seniors with plans to attend college or trade school whose parents are current members of the Lewis County Farm Bureau are eligible to participate in the Lewis County Farm Bureau Public Speaking Contest Scholarship.  Deadline to enroll in the contest is February 23rd.

-Seniors with a minimum 2.0 GPA, who rank between the 60th and 90th percentile are eligible to apply for the Civic Club scholarship.  Deadline is February 23rd.

-Seniors are eligible to apply for one of two Lewis County Fair Scholarships.  Preference will be given to current 4-H or FFA members but membership is not required.  Deadline is February 23rd.

-Seniors planning to major in a field related to banking are eligible to apply for the Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship.  Deadline is March 1st.

-Seniors that are current members of FFA and have been a member for a minimum of 2 years are eligible to apply for the Canton R-V FFA Alumni scholarship.  Amount to be determined.  Deadline is March 1st.

-Seniors in MARE member school districts across the state, who are planning to major in education, are eligible to apply for the Missouri Association of Rural Education (MARE) Scholarship.  Deadline is March 2nd.

-Seniors with interest in studies related to agriculture or other fields of study that benefit rural life are eligible to apply for the MFA Foundation Scholarship.  Deadline is March 8th.

-Seniors are eligible to apply for the Homebank Scholarship.  Applicants pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business will be given preference.  Deadline is March 9th.

-Seniors intending to major in electrical hotline work, electrical engineering, or business, whose parents are members of Lewis County REC are eligible to apply for a scholarship.  Deadline is March 16th.

-Seniors pursuing an associate of applied science degree or certification in a trade related to agriculture are eligible to apply for the Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture Vocational Scholarship.  Their parents or guardians must hold a current Farm Bureau membership.  Deadline is March 23rd.

-Seniors interested in or intending to pursue an insurance, risk management or actuarial science course of study in a Missouri college or university is eligible to apply for the Missouri Insurance Education Foundation (MIEF) Scholarship.  Deadline is March 23rd.

-Senior student-athletes participating in one or more sports (as defined by MSHSAA) and remained academically eligible to play such sport during the season's entirety, are eligible to apply for the Josh Houchins Memorial Student-Athlete Scholarship.  Deadline is March 26th.

-Senior students with a significant disability, planning to attend a college, university, vocational school, or certificate program are eligible to apply for the Josh Houchins Memorial Scholarship for a Student with a Medical Diagnosis or Disability.  Deadline is March 26th.

-Senior, 4-year softball players are eligible to apply for the Kourtnie Geisendorfer Memorial Scholarship.  Deadline is April 20th.
