                Trap at Macon…bus leaves at 1:30

-The music committee for the Welcome Back Bonfire will meet today during 5th hour in the library.

-FBLA dues for new and returning members are due today.

-Juniors and the top 10% of sophomores can sign up in the Guidance office to take the PSAT.  The cost is $16.00 each and will be given on Wednesday, October 11th at 8:45.   Deadline to sign up is today.

-There will be a meeting during 5th hour today in Mr. Morss’ room for any 9th-12th grade students interested in joining Key Club.  Please check in with your 5th hour teacher first.  If you cannot attend, please let Mr. Morss know in advance.

-Students who have a leadership position should have received an invitation to Student Council's Leadership Bootcamp to be held on Wednesday, September 27th during 3rd hour.  You need to RSVP by tomorrow to enable us to provide lunch.  Only students who RSVP will be included on the excused list for this activity.

-Sophomore applications for HOBY and Missouri Leadership Seminar are due Monday, October 16th to Mrs. Oliver.

-The ACT will be offered at Canton December 9th.  Registration deadline is November 3rd.  Students can register online at act.org.

-Juniors and seniors can sign up outside the guidance office to meet with the following college representatives:

                Northwest Missouri State University on Thursday, September 28 at 2:30

                Quincy University on Monday, October 2 at 2:30

                Southeastern Community College on Tuesday, October 3 at 2:30

                Columbia College on Monday, October 9 at 2:30

                Hannibal LaGrange University on Tuesday, October 24 at 2:30

                Missouri Western State University on Tuesday, October 31 at 2:30


-The senior class picture for yearbook and the senior video will be taken Friday, September 29th at 3:00. The dress will be jeans and a red, white, or blue shirt.  We will meet in the band lobby.

-If a counselor report is needed for a scholarship, you MUST request the report from Mrs. Oliver at least 1 week in advance of the scholarship due date.

-The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available on October 1st for the 2018-19 academic year.  Completing the FAFSA is the first step in determining a student’s eligibility for financial aid.

-Seniors can apply for the Missouri Cattlemen's Foundation scholarship.  Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be a member of Missouri Junior Cattlemen's or their parent must be a member of Missouri Cattlemen's.  Deadline is September 29th.

-Seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA who participate in at least one school-sponsored sport can apply online to be recognized nationally for their achievements and could receive a Wendy's scholarship.  Deadline is October 2nd.

-Seniors with a minimum 2.0 GPA who demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required) can apply online for the National & Missouri Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs valued up to $25,000.  Deadline is October 25th.

-Seniors can apply for the Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship.  Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.  Apply online but also print your application and give to Mrs. Oliver to be considered for local scholarships.  Deadline is November 27th.

-Seniors planning to attend Culver-Stockton College are eligible to apply for the Frank and Nellie Page scholarship, renewable for 4 years.  Deadline is December 4th.

-Seniors are eligible to apply for the D. Eugene Sykes Memorial scholarship.  Deadline is December 4th.

-Seniors are eligible to apply for the Sam Staples scholarship.  Deadline is December 4th.

-Seniors attending Truman State University OR majoring in Criminal Justice will be considered for the Kristin Hendrickson Memorial scholarship.  Deadline is December 4th.

-Female seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA planning to major in a field of business and have taken at least one business class at Canton R-V during their senior year are eligible to apply for the Jeanette Bethann Schuetz Memorial scholarship.  Deadline is January 31st.

-Seniors who are a child or grandchild of a living Elk member are eligible to apply for the Elks Legacy scholarship.  Deadline is February 2nd.
