The Canton R-V School District is proud to announce the hiring of Mrs. Katie Brown as the new High School Principal. Mrs. Brown is a 2012 graduate of Canton R-V and is excited to return home to lead the school where her educational journey began.
Mrs. Brown earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in 2016, followed by a Master’s degree in 2018 and a Specialist in Education degree in 2020, both from William Woods University. She is currently in her 10th year in education.
Her career began as a Special Education teacher with the Fulton Public School District. Since then, she has served in multiple leadership and administrative roles in both Fulton Public Schools and Columbia Public Schools. For the past three years, Mrs. Brown has served as the Special Services Director for Lewis County C-1, where she has been instrumental in supporting student services and district growth.
Mrs. Brown shared her enthusiasm for returning to Canton, saying,
“Returning to serve my home district and support students, educators, families, and stakeholders is an opportunity I am truly honored and excited about. As a leader, my goal is to do what is best for students each day while supporting educators and building strong connections with families and our community.”
She and her husband, Kegan, have two sons — Case, who will begin preschool this fall, and Reid, who is 17 months old.
Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Katie Brown back to the Canton R-V family as she begins her service as High School Principal. We look forward to her leadership, dedication, and student-centered vision for the future.
